About Broke Professionals
Are you like us? Do you have a ton of student loan debt or worry about your personal finances? Do you have a well paying job but still find it difficult to get ahead? What can we do to fight back and take our destiny into our own hands? How do we increase income and income streams and cut down on expenses? Should you follow your entrepreneurial spirit or follow your passions or stick with what is comfortable and gets you through another week? From one broke professional to another, we hope this site will start some dialogue and be a great sounding board for improvement in all of our lives.
Most other people who blog in the field of Personal Finance discuss their “Goal of obtaining one million dollars” or their “journey to financial independence and freedom”, here at www.brokeprofessionals.com, we have a net worth of NEGATIVE $110,000.00, (thanks to our student loans), so our goal is simple: just to make it back to broke ($0.00 net worth).
BROKEPROFESSIONALS.COM is created/run by a Husband/Wife team. We are young professionals and we have no children (other than our dog Sophie!).
Both of us live and work in New Jersey. We plan on having a new post just about every day of the year, and will be focusing on personal finance and personal/professional development. We are simply trying to figure our way in the world, pay down student loans, and develop into hardworking assets to society who can give a little back.
Thanks for joining us on our journey to broke.

Well… student loans can be very painful. We have those too and so far we are not even close to paying them off. Being broke should not be a goal, though…
How about getting out of being broke?
Some day!
We'll take what we can get… Being broke would look really good to us at this point.
Ahhhh the student loan debacle. Yes, I too have them. Look forward to reading more of your new series ‘Spouse – off’ !
In the meantime, I will be wandering around & checking out your site!
Did you guys take out debt for grad school, or is this just undergrad? What did you guys study and do now? Most of the time when folks have big debt, they also have big income so it turns out OK!
Cheers,
Sam
